COLOUR SEPARATIONS TO DO WITH METAMORPHOSIS IN A
TROPICAL JUNGLE. Michael
Adams |
Michael Adams, considered to be the 'Gauguin of the Seychelles',
reconstructs the magnificent world of nature in his fantastic portraits of
people, palms, waterfalls, jungles, botanical gardens, vibrant street life
and everyday scenes of the islands jumbled together in a veritable
kaleidoscope of colour and movement, painted in minute
detail.
Vibrant yellows, shades of green and explosive blues are mixed
outrageously with bright pinks, violets and turquoises as culture and
daily life of the tropics is brilliantly portrayed in the extraordinary
works of Michael Adams.

PASSING
PEOPLE, VICTORIA, WITH A MUSIC LOVER
& A TATTOOED GUARDIAN. Michael
Adams |
Simple wooden houses, fishing boats, market places, local people and
children are mingled with the marvelous chaos of the tropics in the same
way as reality. The fascinating unself-consciousness with which the women
wear their colorful hats and their passion for bold festive clothes are
combined with hints of gold and silver that highlight the extraordinary
splendor of island life. Intertwined with the background, is a mosaic of
tropical vegetation consisting of tiny multicolored forms depicting
insects and animals which awaken the scents of a tropical forest and the
sensation of palms swishing in a breeze.

A TIRED
5 P.M. ISLAND BUS QUEUE WITH ASSORTED BAGS
& BASKETS IN FRONT OF M.D. PILLAYS
BOUTIQUE. Michael
Adams |
Michael props up a Japanese paper umbrella to shelter him from passing
clouds while he recreates the feeling of the jungle, the charm of the
forests and the life of local people and scenes as are reflected in his
original style of art work. His extraordinary tropical palette is
highlighted with gold and silver which accentuate the extraordinary
luminosity of the islands. The colours of a perfect sky, the beauty of a
waterfall, the changing colours of the sea along with animals, insects,
trees and gardens express the millions of different facets of culture of
the islands. When the work is completed everything will have been
expressed in his
watercolour. |
